Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures release date and cast announced

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures has had its release date announced for May 4, 2023. This series will see Master Yoda lead a group of younglings on several adventures as they learn important lessons on being a Jedi.

Some of the cast has been revealed, along with pictures of the show. Jamaal Avery Jr. as Kai Brightstar, Juliet Donenfeld as Lys Solay, Dee Bradley Baker as Nubs, Emma Berman as Nash Durango, Jonathan Lipow as the droid RJ-83, and Piotr Michael as Master Yoda.

The show is mainly aimed at preschoolers and their families. Alyssa Sapire, senior vice president of Development, Series, Strategy at Disney Junior described the series as an early entry point to the franchise for younger viewers.

There will also be five comics and books based on the show, with the first one releasing May 2 and the last one releasing on September 5.

The series will be set in the High Republic era, a relatively new time period in the galaxy far far away. The era takes place around 200 years before the start of the Skywalker Saga.

It is a time of relative peace and prosperity for both the Republic and Jedi.

This will be the first on-screen appearance of the era. It is currently the subject of a huge publishing initiative, spanning multiple phases of books and comics. 

Star Wars has two other major High Republic projects in development, The Acolyte which is a Sith focused story, and the video game Star Wars Eclipse by Quantic Dream.

May 4, 2023, or more commonly known to fans as Star Wars Day, will also see the release of the second season of Star Wars: Visions
Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures will release on Disney+ and Disney Junior on May 4, 2023.
