Fallout officially renewed for season 2 on Prime Video
‘Fallout’ has been officially renewed for season two on Amazon’s streaming service, Prime Video.
The news was announced on Prime Video’s X account, which stated “‘FALLOUT’ will be back for SEASON 2.”
It was widely speculated that the show would get the green light for a second season, as it’s already been announced that the show will relocate to California and receive a $25 million tax credit.
No release date for when fans could expect season two was given.
‘Fallout’ was released on Prime Video on April 10 starring Ella Purnell as Vault Dweller Lucy MacLean, Aaron Moten as Brotherhood of Steel member Maximus, and Walton Goggins as a ghoul bounty hunter, Cooper Howard.
All eight episodes were released at once on the service.
Fans were impressed with the series, which also drew praise from critics. The show currently sits at 94% with critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
SciFiction’s Kieran Burt said, “‘Fallout’ is a video game adaptation that understands and isn’t ashamed of its source material, matching the morals and tone of the games to a tee.”
The show’s popularity has translated into an increase in players to the video games, with the player count for ‘Fallout 76’ increasing to 43,887 on Steam from a count of between 7,000 and 10,000 a week after the show was released.
‘Fallout 4’ peaked at around 83,000 concurrent players on Steam.
‘Fallout’ is the latest video game adaptation, following in the footsteps of ‘Halo,’ ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie,’ and ‘The Last of Us.’
