Skybound and Image Comics release new trailer teasing the new Energon Universe storylines

Skybound and Image Comics, in collaboration with the toy and game company Hasbro, have released a new trailer teasing fans with the Energon Universe, a comics initiative that will see the Transformers crossover with G.I. Joe.

The trailer reveals that dark forces will rise across the galaxy, threatening peace, and leading new heroes to rise up to stop them.

The Decepticons have made new war plans, threatening the safety of Earth.

The Decepticon Shockwave will carve out his own destiny, tired of people creating it for him.

In the trailer, it teases that while the Autobots will fight for the Earth, humanity will have its own heroes fighting alongside them.

It also hints that all is not what it seems, as there is a deadly secret at play.

Upcoming releases set in the Energon Universe include Duke #2 on January 31, Cobra Commander #2, Transformers #5, and Void Rivals TP Vol. 1 in February.

This shared universe began in June 2023 when the Transformers character Jetfire made a surprise appearance in Void Rivals #1 from acclaimed writer Robert Kirkman (‘Invincible,’ The Walking Dead’), artist Lorenzo De Felici (‘Kroma’), colorist Matheus Lopes (‘Step by Bloody Step’) which ushered in the collaboration between Hasbro and Skybound.

This collaboration was cemented with the issue Transformers #1 from writer/artist Daniel Warren Johnson (Extremity, Do a Powerbomb, DC’s Wonder Woman: Dead Earth) and colorist Mike Spicer (Stillwater, Murder Falcon).

The Energon Universe has continued to expand, with the launch of the limited series of Duke #1 from writer Joshua Williamson (DC’s Superman, Dark Ride), artist Tom Reilly (The Thing), and colorist Jordie Bellaire (W0rldtr33) and the limited series of Cobra Commander #1 from Joshua Williamson, artist Andrea Milana (Impact Winter: Rook), and colorist Annalisa Leoni (Oblivion Song).
