The Mandalorian season 4 gets an exciting update from Jon Favreau

We are not long from the release of the much anticipated third season of The Mandalorian, and Jon Favreau has given fans a welcoming update about the potential for a fourth season.

Speaking to the French entertainment news program BFMTV INSIDE, the creator and showrunner of The Mandalorian said that he’s “already written” the fourth season of the hit Disney+ show, saying that he wrote it “during post-production” of season three.

“Season 4? Yea, I’ve written it already. We have to know where we are going to tell a fully formed story. So, we had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I. And then slowly you just write each episode. So I was writing it during post-production, because all of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.”

He continued, saying that “we have to know where we are going to tell a fully formed story,” explaining the need to “keep in mind” other series like Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew when expanding the timeline.

Favreau previously confirmed last year that The Mandalorian would be returning for a fourth season, but hadn’t explained when it would be made.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal as the titular character, and has a cute sidekick named Grogu, which he met all the way back in season one.

It started off as something that was fairly disconnected from Star Wars, but as the show expanded it has included popular characters like Boba Fett, Ahsoka Tano, and Bo-Katan Kryze.

The third season trailers show a return to Mandalore, the homeworld of the Mandalorians, a race known for their powerful armor and weapons.

The planet has only briefly been seen in live-action during The Book of Boba Fett, but it and the Mandalorian culture. has played a major role in Star Wars animation.

Pascal has teased that the third season will further expand the Mandalorian mythology, hinting at the “many many different facets of culture, politics, and rules,” for audiences to discover.
The Mandalorian season three will arrive on Disney+ on March 1, 2023.
