Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Official Trailer Reaction

Disney has released the final trailer for their next ‘Star Wars’ series, ‘Skeleton Crew’, teasing their ‘Goonies’ inspired show that releases in early December.  Audiences get a much better look at the series, showing off the adventure that the children will be forced to go on during the holiday season.

Star Wars

Kicking off audiences get a look at two of the rebellious characters, who are sadly sitting in a school office about to be told off. They both trade stories of why they’re there, with one being more rule breaking rebellious, and the other preferring to explore the world. No doubt these two distinct traits will come into play across the series, not just here. The dad comes to tell his child off, saying the situation is unacceptable.

Audiences the get a better look at the children exploring the ship, the Onyx Cinder, with one of them of course touching a button, kickstarting their adventure. The ship brings them to a pirate hideout, with similar markings to Gorian Shard’s ships. Vane can even be briefly seen. What’s most interesting here is the kids use credits from what’s called the Old Republic, though since this is the era of the New Republic, the characters could be referring to the Republic of the prequel era. It’s unclear at the moment.

The use of these credits does land them in hot water, and Jude Law’s character is drawn into helping them. This trailer shows of his more smuggler side, as he doesn’t agree to take the kids home for free, he wants to partner with them, likely in return for the kids helping him get the treasure glimpsed in this trailer.

Some quick shots finish off the trailer, with a look at a New Republic world, warnings of murderous pirates and the looks of a daring boarding sequence by pirates. SM-33 also gets to show off that just because he’s an old droid, doesn’t mean he’s not still lethal. The parents and some creepy looking droids argue that they need to actively look for the kids, but it sounds like they’re getting limited help, if any.

SM-33 gives a warning of dangerous mountains, and booby traps, and honestly this is a fantastic chance to see properly what those look like in ‘Star Wars’. Audiences have only seen small ideas of this in the animated shows, but they haven’t ever had too much focus.

And the show is close to coming out, with two episodes releasing on December 3.
