Lucasfilm announces new LEGO Star Wars special Rebuild the Galaxy

Lucasfilm have announced that fans will be getting a new LEGO special on September 13 titled ‘Rebuild the Galaxy’ following the much-loved character Jedi Bob as he, Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo) and Dev Greebling have to put the galaxy right after a disturbance causes everything to go wrong.

Star Wars

On StarWars.com a summary for the four-part special reads as follows “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, the entire Star Wars galaxy gets completely mixed up when an ordinary nerf-herder, Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo), unearths a powerful artifact called the Cornerstone from a hidden Jedi temple. He finds himself thrust into adventure in a new, wondrously wild and twisted version of the galaxy where good guys are bad, bad guys are good, and the fate of all depends on Sig becoming the hero who can put all the pieces back together.

Fans can expect to see wonderous fusions and inversions of well-known characters, ships, vehicles and planets throughout the four parts, including, Imperial X-Fighters (a fusion of TIE-Fighters and X-Wings), Rebel TIE-Wings (a fusion of X-Wings and TIE-Fighters), Ewok bounty hunters, Geonosian Jedi, a Dark Falcon and Darth Jar Jar, a nod to the famous fan-theory that Jar Jar Binks is  Sith Lord in disguise.

The voice cast for the show features plenty of talent, including Ahmed Best as Darth Jar Jar and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker but others too like Gaten Matarazzo as Sig Greebling, Tony Revolori as Dev Greebling, Bobby Moynihan as Jedi Bob, Marsai Martin as Yesi Scala, and Michael Cusack as Servo.

Showrunners and executive producers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit tell StarWars.com, “The opportunity to work with LEGO and Lucasfilm to rebuild the galaxy has been a dream come true.

“We’ve been collecting LEGO Star Wars sets for twenty-five years, and we have approached this project with a fan’s enthusiasm, crafting this story quite literally brick by brick. For new fans, this will be an exciting place to enter the world of LEGO Star Wars, and for lifelong fans, you’re going to see some things that you never thought possible,” they add.

‘LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy’ arrives on Disney+ on September 13.
