Dragon Ball Daima Episode 17 Overview

Dragon Ball DAIMA enters what looks to be its final act with back-to-back climactic fights that raise the stacks and finally give fans the intense fights they have been hungry for. The episode starts with the comedic bits expected of Toriyama’s work, with Goku and Vegeta bickering over who gets to fight their next opponent. Personalities are on full display with moments like Majin Duu chasing a butterfly in the background while everyone else is having intense conversations preparing to fight.

The first fight itself puts the full capabilities of the animation center focus with Goku vs Majin Duu showing off the Saiyan’s martial arts skills vs the chaos of a stretchy menace who fights like a wild animal. The fight doesn’t get to finish before both sides take it seriously though, as King Gomah interrupts the duo mid-struggle with a blast of his own. For the first time, his full new form is revealed in a long shot that gives off vibes of the Pride Troopers from Dragon Ball Super. For the first time in the series, it looks like there is no hope for the team to beat an opponent, with everyone throwing everything they have at him to no avail.

The episode ends after all the villains and allies come together to fight Gomah, showing his power with it still not enough. In a desperate situation, Goku goes into Super Saiyan 3 for the first time in the series ready to fight the Demon King without holding anything back. Excitement i bubbling in the fanbase and hype for the next episode is at an all-time high for this series. Dragon Ball DAIMA and its slower pace have built this moment up to be something special, and fans can’t wait to see what is delivered in episode 18.
