Poppy Playtime’s Main Antagonist of Chapter 4: Yarnaby
Poppy Playtime chapter 4 has given us a brand-new trailer and revealed the main villain
named Yarnaby. Yarnaby (Experiment #1166) seems to have the appearance of a lion. Its main
being covered in colorful yarn, and has giant claws and paws of a lion, but also has appearance
of a soft loving plushy doll. At the end of the trailer, Yarnaby appears to have a mouth inside of
its face, showing a terrifying monster image. It’s somewhat similar to Huggy Wuggy’s mouth
(Chapter One’s main antagonist), but a lot scarier.
The trailer also shows that Yarnaby was being held deep underground of the factory, and
as the main character was walking through the underground levels, it was showing dismembered
and discarded Poppy Playtime toys, (which could still be alive). There are also scenes of the
trailer of what could be a camera being moved around (being controlled by who knows who) and
watching the main character, and a television monitor (when the main protagonist walked in
front of it, eyes were being shown on the screen, looking at the protagonist, and when it spotted
him, it glowed red). This all tells us that it could be Yarnaby’s eyes and ears of the whole lower
levels, let it know that there could be people walking around the area. This could be a hint of
what Chapter Four’s gameplay is and how to deal with the main villain Yarnaby (a hide and
don’t be seen kind of gameplay vibe).
So, throughout the Poppy Playtime series, each main antagonist has its own theory and
special powers and how to defeat or avoid them and has its own history. Yarnaby could have all
of those things or maybe more in chapter 4 and fans are excited yet probably terrified of what
might come in January.
