Star Wars Heritage Pack announced for Switch
Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games have announced that seven classic ‘Star Wars’ games will be available on the Nintendo Switch in a bundle called the ‘Star Wars Heritage Pack’.
This pack will include ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed’, ‘Star Wars: Republic Commando’, ‘Star Wars Episode I: Racer’, ‘Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy’, ‘Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast’, ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’, ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords’.
‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ and its sequel will not be available on the physical cartridge, they will only be accessible via a digital download.
The physical edition is currently only available in the United States.
The pack will be released on December 8th for Nintendo Switch and costs $60.
These games are considered some of the best ‘Star Wars’ titles and span a range of genres.
‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ is a role-playing game released in 2003, and its sequel was released in 2004.
‘Star Wars: Republic Commando’ was a first-person shooter that saw players take control of a Republic Commando across several battles in the Clone Wars. It was released in 2005.
‘Star Wars Episode I: Racer’ was a 1999 racing game that saw players control a podracer in several races.
‘Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast’ and Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy continued the story of Kyle Katarn and released in 2002 and 2003 respectively. Its gameplay was a mix of lightsaber combat and first and third-person shooting.
‘Star Wars: The Force Unleased’ was a 2008 game that told the story of Darth Vader’s apprentice, Starkiller. It focused on third-person lightsaber combat and using the Force to overwhelm opponents.
A remake of ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ was announced by Aspyr for PS5 back in 2021, but the game has encountered a troubled development and has an unclear release date.
