The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom wins big at Gamescom 2023
Nintendo’s ‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’ game has won several awards at the 2023 Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany.
It won awards for best gameplay, best audio, and the honor of being called the most epic title at the international event.
‘Tears of the Kingdom’ was released on the Nintendo Switch in May 2023, and drew much praise.
It has already become one of the highest-rated games of 2023, with critics and fans alike wowed by the game’s stunning visuals, open-world design, and creative, open-ended gameplay.
The game is the latest entry in ‘The Legend of Zelda’ franchise, a long-running Nintendo property.
Other winners at the Gamescom award winners include ‘Black Myth: Wukong’ from Game Science Interactive Technology, an action role-playing game that took home the best visuals award.
The fighting game Mortal Kombat 1 won the award for best Xbox Game, and the best mobile game award was given to ‘Sky: Children of the Light, a game developed and published by that game company.
After E3 was canceled earlier this year, Gamescom shifted its focus to the prime video game conference of the year.
It was hosted by Geoff Keighley, who hosted the Summer Games Fest earlier in the year.
It’s unclear if E3 will return to Los Angeles in 2024, but Gamescom has already been dated to run from August 21 to 25, 2024.
