The Boys Season 5 Confirmed on Prime Video
‘The Boys’ will be back on Prime Video for a season 5, the streamer confirms .
The news arrives as season 4 nears its release on the service. Prime Video announced the news during its 2024 upfront presentation.
While cast members and plot have yet to be confirmed, audiences can be fairly certain the main cast will return, though as ‘The Boys’ is prone to many violent deaths fans can’t be certain until season 4 has concluded.
It’s also uncertain how this will tie in with the second season of ‘The Boys’ spin-off show, ‘Gen V’.
The spin-off debuted on Prime Video on September 2023 as was picked up shortly after it wrapped, and saw characters from ‘The Boys’ like Victoria Neuman, Homelander and Butcher appear, and ‘The Boys’ season 4 trailer teases the return of the Supe-killing virus first shown off in ‘Gen V’.
“‘The Boys’ could be the best job I’ll ever have. What other show allows me to write about politics, capitalism, family, and exploding genitalia, though not in that order,” said Eric Kripke, showrunner for ‘The Boys’.
“The cast and crew are deeply grateful to Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios for the opportunity to tell this story for another season. My only problem is that since this year promises to be free of any conflict or misinformation, we’re not sure what to write about.”
Season 4 releases three episodes on June 13 on Prime Video.
The synopsis reads “In season 4, Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and secretly working with Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as leader. As potential disaster inches ever closer, Butcher and The Boys will have to find a way to save the world as a team.”
