Star Trek: Infinite strategy game announced at Summer Games Fest

Paradox Interactive has announced a new Star Trek strategy game, titled Star Trek Infinite.

It is being developed by Nimble Giant Entertainment, the same company that made Quantum League.

The game was announced at the Summer Games Festival, with the promise of more information to come on June 16, otherwise known as Picard day.

A short reveal trailer was released, and it showed a Federation fleet approaching a Borg fleet, as well as a map of factions.

It will feature four playable factions: The United Federation of Planets, The Klingon Empire, The Romulan Star Empire and the Cardassian Union.

Paradox confirmed that the game is set a few decades before Star Trek: The Next Generation.

A press release by the company said: “Star Trek: Infinite puts players in command of one of four major powers in the galaxy, each with individualized traits, stories, quests, and more to make their play feel distinct.

“With stunning visuals, difficult choices, and unique gameplay, this game allows players to experience a beloved franchise in a new way as they navigate contact with other empires and worlds.”

Art shows iconic Star Trek characters such as Captain Picard, Dukat and Gowron.

One thing that was confirmed is that this title won’t be released on mobile devices.

No other details were announced, but audiences have less than a week to wait to find out more.
