Science-Fiction Films to Revisit This Year
While the world awaits for new films to make an arrival this year and next, it’s never a
bad idea to revisit some old films in the meantime, especially originals that have an anticipated
reboot. Here is a list of science-fiction films that are a must to revisit – or even watch for the first
time:
Tron (1982) and Tron Legacy (2010) – With the new Tron: Ares movie in the works, it
isn’t the worst idea to visit the original films, especially to see the drastic change in technology
between the original film and today. There’s also that wave of nostalgia that will hit like a train
before watching the upcoming sequel.
Alien (1979) – The Alien franchise is undoubtedly popular, and they never fail to make
an impact on fans of the films. Consider giving the original movie a watch, and make sure to
follow up with a marathon. Between the recent new film Alien: Romulus and the upcoming
television show Alien: Earth, what better time to refill your brain with nostalgia and prepare for
new Alien content?
Predator (1987) – With Predator: Badlands making an arrival in fall of 2025, consider
rewatching the original films beforehand, especially if it’s been a long time since the last watch.
While the last Predator film, Prey, was rather recent, it delivered a different perspective and time
period as opposed to other films. Revisiting the original film will allow time to be more excited
about the Badlands release.
Avatar (2009) – A third film from James Cameron’s series is in the works, titled Avatar:
Fire and Ash. The original film from 2009 was a hit with many, and one of the highest making
films that year. To relive watching that movie for the first time would be an incredible feeling, so
why not watch it again?
Star Wars (1977) – With the Star Wars celebration on the way next month, there is no
better time than to binge the entire series and then some, though with all of the Star Wars
movies and shows out there, it may or may not be doable before the celebration. Still, why deny
yourself a Star Wars rewatch regardless?
Consider giving these films a watch this year, even if it’s for a second or third time. With
new films on the way, rewatches aren’t necessarily a bad idea.
