Indiana Jones will return to cinemas and release in 4k
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark returns to cinemas in June, Lucasfilm has announced.
It will be re-released on June 4 and June 7, ahead of the fifth Indiana Jones movie, titled Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Lucasfilm has also said that all four films in the franchise will be separately available in 4K Ultra on disc.
They will include artwork inspired by the original posters for the films.
These will go on sale from June 6.
This follows the remastered 4K editions that were released in 2021, as well as the sound being remixed at Skywalker Sound.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will release later on June 30, and stars Harrison Ford as an older Indiana Jones, Phoebe Waller-Bridge plays his goddaughter Helen, and Mads Mikkelsen is the villain Voller.
The synopsis for the film reads: “Daredevil archaeologist Indiana Jones races against time to retrieve a legendary dial that can change the course of history. Accompanied by his goddaughter, he soon finds himself squaring off against Jürgen Voller, a former Nazi who works for NASA.”
James Mangold directs the film, with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy producing.
Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serve as executive producers on the title.
John Williams, who has scored each Indy film since the original Raiders of the Lost Ark, is composing the score.
