Godzilla To Be A Boss In Fortnite
Godzilla, the monster that levels skyscrapers and is known for fighting King Kong, will soon become a boss for players to take down in the game ‘Fortnite’.
The character will also be available in a skin format, with players with the battle pass being able to unlock the Godzilla Evolved and Mecha Godzilla skins.
Additional cosmetic awards will also be available, such as the Mecha Godzilla Back Bling
A short teaser trailer shows a full-sized Godzilla rampaging about the battlefield, with his pink look inspired by the 2024 film ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’.
It’s not clear yet how this boss fight will work, however in past seasons players have had to band together to take down Doctor Doom in the Marvel-themed season.
Godzilla has several signature attacks to draw from, such as his atomic breath.
The character will drop into ‘Fortnite’s’ popular battle royale mode on January 14.
King Kong has been referenced in the game, but the big ape and Godzilla’s long-time nemesis has yet to appear on the island, but rumours point to his inclusion later down the line.
Developer Epic Games will also likely have other Godzilla-themed crossover events planned as the season of the game progresses.
Epic Games has made ‘Fortnite’ a natural home for many crossover events, with ‘Star Wars’, Marvel’ and many more franchises appearing in the game and as skins.
They’ve also continued to expand the game with many different game modes ‘Fortnite’ now offers, including ‘LEGO Fortnite’, which plays similar to the 2011 game ‘Minecraft’.
Entertainment giant Disney invested $1.5 billion dollars into ‘Fortnite’ at the start of 2024, further reinforcing Fortnite’s importance to the film and TV industry.
