Giancarlo Esposito Joins Captain America: Brave New World
Giancarlo Esposito, an actor known for his villainous performances, has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film ‘Captain America: Brave New World’.
It’s not known what role he will play, but Variety reports that it will be a villainous role.
Esposito has hinted that he joined the MCU while at the CCXP while at Brazil in May.
One character he won’t be playing is Professor X, Charles Xaiver, as has been speculated.
Eposito quashed that theory himself.
“There’s something about being original. We’ve seen different versions of Professor X,” Esposito told the crowd. “Wouldn’t you like to see me play a character in a Marvel movie who is original, and new, and fresh? So, mark my words: This will happen sooner than you think.”
Eposito is an acclaimed actor will known for imposing villainous roles, appearing as Gus Fring in ‘Breaking Bad’ and its prequel series ‘Better Call Saul’, Moff Gideon in the ‘Star Wars’ series ‘The Mandalorian’, former Vought CEO Stan Edgar and a voice role as Lex Luthor in DC’s ‘Harley Quinn’.
‘Captain America: Brave New World’ will release in cinemas on February 14, 2025 after several delays.
It will star Anthony Mackie wielding the shield as Sam Wilson, Captain America.
Harrison Ford, best known for his ‘Star Wars’ character Han Solo, will join the MCU as President Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, replacing Will Hurd in the role.
During Disney’s presentation at CinemaCon in April, where Marvel chief Kevin Feige likened the film to 2014’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” describing it as “another fast-paced, relatively grounded action thriller.”
Julius Onah directs, and Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson and Rosa Salazar will also appear in the film.
