Frostpunk 2 Coming to Xbox on September 18th, Launching Day One on GamePass
Xbox players, get ready to face the perpetual frost once again. Developer 11 bit studios has
officially announced that their highly anticipated city-building survival sequel, Frostpunk 2, will be
coming to Xbox Series X|S on September 18th. What’s even better is that the game will be a
day one launch on Xbox Game Pass.
The console release follows the game’s successful debut on PC, bringing the new, oil-fueled era
of New London to a wider audience. In Frostpunk 2, players will once again take on the role of a
city’s leader, but this time, the challenges are less about surviving the cold and more about
managing the complex social and political divisions within the city. Factions and ideological
conflicts will test your leadership as you strive to keep the last remnants of humanity from
tearing themselves apart.
For the console port, 11 bit studios has put a heavy emphasis on a refined user interface and
controls, ensuring that the strategic gameplay feels intuitive and satisfying on a controller. This
includes a new radial menu and streamlined navigation, a move that the developers hope will
prove that even intricate strategy games can thrive on consoles.
The September 18th launch date not only marks the arrival of the digital version on Xbox and
PlayStation 5 but also coincides with the release of physical editions of the game, including a
special “Icebreaker Edition” for collectors. With its inclusion in Game Pass from day one,
Frostpunk 2 is poised to be one of the biggest strategic titles of the fall for the Xbox ecosystem.
