Empire Magazine Teases Avatar: Fire and Ash Details

Empire Magazine has teased some details that audiences can expect from the upcoming ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ movie with a reveal on who David Thewlis, what the Resources Development Administration (RDA) are up to, and a new village that Jake Sully will visit.

Starting with David Thewlis’ character, he will be playing Peylak, the chief of the Wind Traders or Tlalim Clan who ride on jellyfish-like creatures.

Deborah L. Scott, costume designer for the film, told Empire that tthis clan are “upbeat, happy, colourful.” “It’s like the circus is in town.”

Empire Magazine shared exclusive photos of him in their upcoming magazine.

The Wind Traders are not the only group of Na’vi audiences will see, as they will also meet Varang, played by Oona Chaplin, on her fearsome Nightwraith, who rules over the Mangkwan Clan (Ash Clan).

They live in the Ash Village, which is absent of any bright colour.

Production designer Dylan Cole explained to Empire Magazine ““[The Mangkwan] had a natural disaster befall them, and that sort of helped shaped their culture,” he says.  “So much of the world of Pandora is rich and vibrant and full of life — this is just the exact opposite.”

These groups of Na’vi will likely have to band together to face down the RDA, who are more geared up than ever.

They will bring along a belching Factory Ship in the sky, a facility twice the size of the mechanical SeaDragon and supported by an army

The aerial nightmares are designed to capture and process the tulkun on an industrial scale.

Production designer Ben Procter teased to Empire Magazine the conflict in the film  with a fight that makes ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’s’ end battle look like “nothing but a skirmish”.

Fans can read more about ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ in Empire Magazine’s February edition, and watch the film when it releases on December 19.
