Crunchyroll Announces Concert Series With LiSA and One Piece Music at San Diego Comic-Con 2024

Crunchyroll has announced that LiSA, the voice behind ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s’ opening theme “Gurenge” will headline the Crunchyroll Concert Series, starting on Friday, July 26, the first day of San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).

The streamer also confirmed that it will be partnering with Toei Animation team to deliver the The One Piece 25th Anniversary: Symphony Voyage performed by the San Diego Philharmonic Orchestra. 

LiSA’s appearance on July 26 will be ahead of the North American debut of LiSA’s concert film, LiVE is SMiLE ALWAYS – LANDER, which releases on Saturday August 17.

LiSA is known for lending her voice to countless anime themes like “Crossing Field” from ‘Sword Art Online’, and “homura” from ‘Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train’.

Experimental musician and performance artist Alice Longyu Gao will open the evening with a set inspired by her connection to NANA, an anime centred romance and music.  

On Saturday July 27 at 7:00pm, the ‘One Piece’ outdoor concert One Piece 25th Anniversary: Symphonic Voyage will set sail, produced especially for SDCC at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.  

Not only will there be live music, but there will be aerial pyrotechnics based on some of the most memorable moments from the anime. 

Two hours before the concert starts until an hour after the concert ends, atteendes will be able to enjoy several ‘One Piece’ activations like taking on the Gum-Gum Punch Challenge with Luffy, snap a photo with Nami, and play the piano with Brook. 

Throughout SDCC, fans can check the Toei Animation and Crunchyroll booths for exclusive ‘One Piece’ programming and merchandise.

The Crunchyroll Concert Series is free to all SDCC badge holders, but the concert will be open on a first-come first-serve basis.

Crunchyroll will be posting highlights on X, Instagram, Tiktok, and YouTube allowing access to those who can’t attend.
