Brookyln to host the New York Science Fiction Festival for September 2024

The New York Science Fiction Film Festival will return this September in Brookyln, with several short films from different creators playing for fans of the genre.

On Saturday September 14 at Stuart City Cinema and Cafe, short science fiction, fantasy, supernatural, and horror, films will be played.

The films will be streamed online the next day, Sunday September 15.

The festival was founded in 2017 by Daniel Abella, a lifelong admirer of science fiction.

In a press release, Abella said  “As our world becomes progressively technological, we need to find ways to protect our humanity, and the best way is through storytelling.

“What was regarded as speculative years ago has now become fact, and this is the perfect medium to address the plethora of the issues we face. The festival serves as a platform for rising talent, and writing is the beating heart of any good movie,” he added.

A full schedule of the many different films, discussions and other events has been released on the official website for the festival, with some featuring Q&A sessions from the directors and writers.

There will also be screenplay and graphic novel competitions held during the day, and later on there will be an awards ceremony.

Passes arealso available to purchas on the New York Science Fiction website, with an all-day pass costing $35.
