Andor season 2 release date revealed and more Star Wars news at D23 Brasil

‘Andor’ season two will premiere on Disney+ on Tuesday April 22, 2025, Disney confirmed at D23 Brasil.

The 12 episodes from showrunner Tony Gilroy will cover four years of Cassian Andor’s life before ‘Rogue One’.

Attendees at D23 Brasil were shown a sneak peek of the upcoming season, but it wasn’t released online.

Season one released in 2022 to critical and audience acclaim, and saw Cassian witness a rebellion of his home planet Ferrix and take part in a robbery on the planet Aldanhi.

Confirmed characters for season two include Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO, Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera, and Ben Mendelsohn’s Director Krennic.

Fans in attendance also got a sneak peek at ‘Skeleton Crew’, the upcoming series that will premiere on Disney+ on December 3 with two episodes.

Disney has released two trailers for ‘Skeleton Crew’, teasing the ‘Goonies’-esque adventures the show’s main characters will embark on, the pirates that will menace the leads, along with Jude Law’s Force-wielding Jod Na Nawood.

There will be eight episodes of the season in total.

‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ has a release date of May 22, 2026, and will mark the first ‘Star Wars’ film back in cinemas since 2019 when ‘Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker’ released.

Audiences at the event were able to see a sneak peak for the film, showing Din and Grogu facing Imperial Snowtroopers and AT-ATs, and Zeb Orrelios in action, and Grogu traveling with two tiny Anzellans.

Other films that Lucasfilm are working on include one about Rey Skywalker after ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ from Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, one that will explore the Dawn of the Jedi from James Mangold, and one from Dave Filoni about the New Republic fighting a resurgent Imperial Remnant.
