This Iconic Sci-Fi Film is Getting a New Game; Here’s What We Know So Far
Fans of the iconic Terminator franchise have a new reason to say “I’ll be back,” as Nacon Studio
Milan is developing an ambitious new video game titled Terminator: Survivors. Set to launch in
early access on PC via Steam in 2025, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions
following at a later date, this title promises a fresh take on the post-Judgment Day world.
Terminator: Survivors is an open-world survival game that places players in the immediate
aftermath of Judgment Day, before the rise of John Connor’s established human resistance.
Players will be tasked with scavenging for supplies and resources, managing and improving a
base of operations, and fending off both Skynet’s formidable machines and hostile human
factions. The game will offer both single-player and cooperative game modes, allowing players
to face the apocalypse alone or team up with friends.
The development team at Nacon Studio Milan is utilizing Unreal Engine 5 to bring the desolate,
war-torn world to life. Early details and concept art suggest a focus on modular firearms, stealth
mechanics, and evolving player bases, all while the ever-present threat of the T-800 and other
Terminators looms large. While the exact 2025 release date for early access is yet to be
confirmed, the developers have stated that they are taking the time needed to build a
post-apocalyptic world that truly lives up to the franchise’s legacy and meets player
expectations.
