In Tribe Nine Teens Fight To Reclaim Their Freedom Through Extreme Baseball-Themed Combat

Tribe Nine is a baseball game with high stakes. The Mysterious Masked Man Zero is an eccentric entertainer who makes people play games. At the risk of being executed if they lose. Players will join the Trash Tribe whose goal becomes freeing territories from Numbers; who work for Zero. Ultimately taking their fight to Zero himself. The game takes place after the anime, but watching it isn’t necessary to understand this narrative.

Players have a lot to choose from in terms of combat. Attacks can chain together to create a nice variety of moves. There’s also a gauge that, once filled, can offer different benefits. From boosts, time slowdowns, crit chance to increased stats based on your play style. You’ll get a team of three to swap around for better team compositions. Just keep in mind that the enemies can receive these benefits too.

A (potentially) major downside is grinding for characters. Tribe Nine is a gacha game so players must pull for new team members and gear. While this may put off some people, your progress won’t be impeded by bad pulls. Moments necessary for the plot will have the needed character temporarily added. Yo Kuronaka, the protagonist, remains viable for most line-ups. It’s mainly the other two members who will be swapped out.

The actual baseball is minimal. The XB battles are more intense dialogue between Yo and one of the Numbers. As the tension meter mounts, devastating attacks can be unlocked. It’s a good RPG but baseball acts like set dressing at most. The graphics are highly detailed though so each area feels distinct enough. Tribe Nine has a fresh look that’s modern with a touch of retro charm. Available on PC and mobile with a linked accounts option, it’s easy for players to pick up when they can.
