Star Wars Celebration Day 3 Experience

‘Star Wars’ Celebration has now come to a close, which, while disappointing, shouldn’t overshadow the amazing time that the event has provided. It’s a great place for fans to meet up and discover the joy of sharing a fandom with other people. It’s about connection, whether it’s with cosplayers, the people involved in crafting the universe and more. These three days have been excellent.

Every fan gets something different out of Celebration, and how they enjoy it different ways. Some fans dress up in amazing cosplay, others hang out at the live stage all day, and others go to every panel possible. Finally, there’s one group that includes such as myself that prefer to walk to convention floor and absorb everything, talking to (and getting photos with) cosplayers and fans. Every approach is valid and lets people enjoy Celebration their way.

Celebration is in Japan, and for many people, including myself, it’s their first time visiting the country. And that means of course they have to get a memento of their time here. For me, my favorite purchase from the event is a Japanese ‘Star Wars’ magazine. Although I can’t understand the language it’s written in, every time I flick through it (left to right I might add), I’ll think back to all the fun I had at this Celebration, and in Japan more generally.

Finally, as the day came to a close, audiences got one final announcement. In 2027, ‘Star Wars’ Celebration will be returning to the USA, in Los Angeles. This is obviously hugely exciting, as Celebration returns to America after several years of being abroad. And Los Angeles is of course the hub of entertainment. April 2027 might seem like a long way, but it will come round fast.
