Alien Bugs are Making a Comeback in this Reboot

A popular 1997 film is finally getting a reboot in the near future at Sony, and fans couldn’t be
more excited. Starship Troopers will be making a comeback as a new adaptation, this time recreated by
District 9 director Neill Blomkamp. Back in 2023, it was an ongoing rumor but it has officially been
confirmed as of March 2025.

The original cult classic film faced heavy backlash when it first released, being viewed as
supporting fascism, use of militarism, and strong depiction of violence. The film was intended to be
satirical, but it wasn’t as easily noticed back then as it is today. Other than the backlash, there are so
many people who praise the film for the correct use of satire, a perfect blend of CGI and practical effects,
and a unique plot of humans versus alien bugs.

There is no known release date, but with the technology advancement we have today compared
to the 90s, the possibilities of a beautiful reboot are endless.
