Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse picks up Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson to direct

‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ has landed its directors for the final film in the Spider-Verse trilogy.

Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson will direct the film, and they have been part of the creative team for the films since the first entry, ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ back in 2018.

Persichetti served as part of ‘Into the Spider-Verse’ directorial team and excutvie produced the 2023 sequel ‘Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse’ while Thompson worked as a production designer on the first film and joined Joaquim Dos Santos and Kemp Powers to direct ‘Across the Spider-Verse’.

“We have had the immense privilege of being part of Miles’ journey from the very beginning, and directing the conclusion to his story is beyond exciting,” the pair said in a statement.

“The creativity and care poured into every minute of this project has been truly inspiring. We have crafted what we feel is a very satisfying ending, and we can’t wait for fans to experience it. We’re bringing everything we’ve got.”

Sony has yet to announce a release date for ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’ after the studio took it off the March 29, 2024 release date during the 2023 Hollywood strikes.

The film will complete the trilogy that follows Miles Morales, voiced by Shameik Moore as he journeys through the multiverse, attempting to understand what it means for him to be Spider-Man in a multiverse full of many others.

‘Across the Spider-Verse’ released to glowing critical and fan reaction, and saw Miles go up against antagonists like the Spot, voiced by Jason Schwartzman, who becomes frustrated that Miles won’t take him seriously as a threat, and Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, who is voiced by Oscar Isaac.
