Starship Troopers: Extermination Is Leaving Early Access Soon With Some Exciting Features In The Works
Starship Troopers: Extermination is a massive co-op experience where sixteen players team up to battle the Arachnid threat. It’s currently in early access on PC and launches on all platforms in October. Players will get to choose from six classes with their own customizations. They’ll be fighting hundreds of bugs at once. If there wasn’t enough on screen, bug corpses will linger and can be used as barriers against the horde.
In the Special Operations Group missions, players will learn the ropes in a canon campaign that’s a few hours long. The multiplayer missions will also have a planned overarching story. This is to help give context to in-game changes and fixes. Offworld, the developers, would like to eventually add every enemy and weapon from the franchise. Extermination’s first update will allow up to thirty players to work towards a common goal.
There’s a “robust launch plan” that will bring even more game modes and missions. Extermination has resource gathering and base building mechanics that help determine each battle’s outcome. As each special operation is completed this will change the face of each planet. The first operation goes to Boreas where players will encounter mutated drones and warrior bugs. A new enemy type has also been hinted at.
If this isn’t enough to create excitement around the new title, Casper Van Dien reprises his role as Johnny Rico. He will lead players through the twenty-five-mission campaign along with three AI controlled companions. Here’s where they’ll learn to take on the five enemy types currently in the game. Extermination promises to deliver heart pounding, nonstop action for both old fans of the franchise and those who simply enjoy squishing some bugs.
