Ahsoka season two with show creator Dave Filoni Lucasfilm confirms
Lucasfilm confirmed that a second season of ‘Ahsoka’ will be developed for Disney+ with the show’s creator, Dave Filoni, back at the helm for the new series.
While the plot has yet to be revealed, Lucasfilm shared a cryptic sketch from Filoni of Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and her apprentice Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) on the statue of the Mortis God known as the Father, hinting it will be a big part of the second season.
The first season of the show aired from August 2023 until October 2023, focusing on the character that Filoni first brought to the ‘Star Wars’ universe when he joined the franchise for the 2008 animated film ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’.
A second season was widely expected after the first season concluded, as it saw Ahsoka and Sabine trapped in another galaxy on the planet Perida, along with two Dark Side users Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati.
The series also brought the character of Grand Admiral Thrawn to live-action for the first time, a character that was introduced in the ‘Star Wars’ novel ‘Heir to the Empire’ by Timothy Zahn in 1991.
Thrawn was played by Lars Mikkelsen, the same actor who voiced the character in the animated show ‘Star Wars: Rebels’.
The show had made connections to ‘Rebels’ and ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ TV show, with prominent characters like Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Chopper (voiced by Filoni), Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), Huyang (voiced by David Tennant).
Hayden Christensen also reprised his role as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka’s former Jedi master.
New characters in the show included Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) and Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno).
Filoni has been involved in multiple ‘Star Wars’ projects after he joined Lucasfilm, both in animation – ‘The Clone Wars,’ ‘Rebels,’ ‘The Bad Batch,’ ‘Tales of the Jedi,’ – and live-action – ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘The Book of Boba Fett.’
At Star Wars Celebrations 2023 it was confirmed he would direct a film that would bring together all of the Disney+ shows set after ‘Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.’
