Marvel Comics announces new Star Wars comics crossover

Marvel Comics has announced that a brand new Star Wars comic crossover event will be starting in summer 2023.

The comics that will be involved are Doctor Aphra, Darth Vader, Bounty Hunters and the main Star Wars comic.

What the story is is unknown, with Marvel only saying that there will be a new threat that no one will see coming.

An ominous tease of “First, it comes for the metal” was also revealed, hinting at a new kind of monster or alien that attacks metal.

It’s unsurprising that this would be a huge threat to everyone, and to the Empire specifically as of course metal is used to make most of their equipment.

These comics take place in the period between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, so it’s probable that this crossover event will take place during the same time period as well, but this hasn’t been confirmed.

In other comics news, Marvel has confirmed the packed Star Wars comics line-up for March.

Fans can look forward to the following issues:

The High Republic issue 6 and 7

Sana Starros issue 2

Hidden Empire issue 4

Star Wars issue 32

Bounty Hunters issue 32

Doctor Aphra issue 30

Darth Vader 32

Star Wars Return of the Jedi – Jabba’s Palace issue 1

Yoda issue 5

Han Solo and Chewbacca issue 10

Dark Horse comics are also releasing The High Republic one shot Quest of the Jedi by Claudia Gray in March.
March also sees the release of the book Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars, the third season of The Mandalorian, and the continuation of the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
