LEGO Announces New LEGO ICONS Transformers: Soundwave Set Coming August 4
LEGO has announced a new ‘Transformers’ themed set, focusing on iconic bad-guy Decepticon Soundwave.
This set, numbered 10358, will be released on August 4 exclusively at the LEGO store, contain 1505 pieces and cost $189.99/ £159.99.
Soundwave will have the ability to transform into a casette player, and comes with companions Ravage and Laserbeak, who both transform into casette tapes.
Ravage or Laserbeak will be able to be placed into Soundwave when they’re in their tape form.
This is the third Transformer set to be released, with Optimus Prime in 2022 and Bumblebee in 2024.
Soundwave will differ from the previous Transformers as it will have the ability to quote voice lines and play sound effects by pressing a dedicated play button.
On the LEGO website these voice lines can be heard, and a photo gallery of the set can be found.
The model will be 13 inches (33cm) tall, which places it in between the height of Optimus (14 inches) and Bumblebee (10 inches).
The set also comes with rocket pod, laser blaster and dart accessories, as well as a placard.
It will be 18+, aimed at those who grew up with the original ‘Transformers’ series.
Soundwave has also made appearances in the 2009 live-action film ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ directed by Michael Bay, the 2018 live-action film ‘Bumblebee’, directed by Travis Knight, and the 2024 animated film ‘Transformers One’ directed by Josh Cooley.
