Watchmen Chapter II Red Band Trailer Reaction

The second chapter for the Alan Moore’s and David Gibbons adaptation of ‘Watchmen’ has got an official Red Band trailer, teasing audiences on what they can expect from the series when it releases on digital on November 26 and then physically December 3. It will conclude the story that was started earlier in the year, bringing a bittersweet end to the characters. The end is nigh.

Warner Bros. Entertainment

The trailer sees Rorschach locked up in jail, and he’s struggling to keep a low profile. Indeed, some of the inmates break out into a fight with him. It’s a brutal moment, teasing the low point the characters are at. Rorschach is in jail as he was caught committing a murder, but that might not be as simple as it seems. One of the characters wonders if there’s a bigger conspiracy that links everything they’ve seen together.

This feeling of a conspiracy worsens in the next section. Four heroes, The Comedian, Dr. Manhattan, Ozymandias and Rorschach have all been trapped in nightmare situations, which has deeply harmed all of them and threatened the world around them. But it’s likely that whoever is behind this is planning something much worse, heighting the suspense the audience will feel.

It doesn’t take long for Nite Owl to act, freeing Rorschach from his imprisonment. But they still need to put their heads together and figure out what’s going on. Manhatten is unwilling to help, instead wanting to debate Earth’s fate from his palace on Mars. Hopefully someone can convice him to help, else, as the trailer shows, there will be destruction on a large scale.

The cast for the conclusion is full of well known talent, such as ‘The Americans’ star Matthew Rhys, ‘The Mandalorian’ star Katee Sackhoff, and ‘Bosch’ star Titus Welliver. Other notable cast members are Troy Baker (‘The Last of Us’), Corey Burton (‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’), Michael Cerveris (‘The Gilded Age’), Grey Griffin (‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’), Yuri Lowenthal (‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’), and Kari Wahlgren (‘Rick and Morty’).

The synopsis for the second chapter reads: “The Comedian has been murdered, the all-powerful Dr. Manhattan has been exiled to Mars, Ozymandias survived an assassination attempt and the outlaw-vigilante Rorschach has been arrested.

“Suspicious of the events ensnaring their former colleagues, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre are spurred out of retirement to investigate. As they grapple with personal ethics, inner demons and a society turned against them, they race the clock to uncover a deepening plot that might trigger global nuclear war.”

Audiences will be able to find out what’s going on when ‘Watchmen Chapter II’ releases on digital on November 26 and physical on December 3.
