Warhammer Hammer 40,000 owner and maker Games Workshop has announced that its giving out £20 million (roughly $27 million) to its staff as a bonus, due to the company’s stellar performance.
The Nottingham-based UK company, which produces tabletop games and expansive settings, announced that for the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025, core revenue was £560 million, up from the £494.7 million in the previous period. Core profit is £210 million, up from £174.8 million,
Licensing revenue was £50 million for the same period, up from £31 million, and licensing profit is £45 million, up from £27 million.
Overall profit before tax is £255 million, up from £203 million from the previous year.
Due to this huge success, and “in recognition of our staff’s contribution to these results,” Games Workshop is setting £20 million aside for employees, up from the £18 million set aside last year.
This £20 million will be split on an equal basis to each staff member. The company has an estimated 1,500 employees, which means each staff member is set for a bonus of £13,333 (roughly $18,000) bonus.
Games Workshop is known for its sale for miniatures that fans come together and for to use in tabletop wargames, such as Warhammer 40,000 or the fantasy Warhammer.
It has developed its IP beyond the table, with hugely popular video games (like ‘Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, with a third instalment on the way), and on TV, such as an episode in the Amazon Prime Video short ‘Secret Level’.
IP focused efforts are set to expand, as Games Workshop and Amazon finalised a deal for Warhammer 40,000 projects with star Henry Cavill, who is a huge Warhammer 40,000 fan. This effort will see the creation of films and television series.
Games Workshop did comment on the future, saying that licensing revenue has hit a record level, and it doesn’t expect it to be repeated in the following year.
