Warborne Above Ashes Is A PVP Focused MMO For Fans Of Large Scale Battles
In Warborne Above Ashes players are drifters fighting a relentless war. This post-apocalyptic game focuses heavily on PVP. It has an interesting base mechanic, which makes them mobile. This makes the drifter “fantasy” come to life. Bad strategic decisions will result in a retreat to the starting zone. The loot system feels less punishing. When defeated, characters drop half their loot and one piece of gear.
Warborne is more gameplay focused than a deep narrative. After a clear tutorial, players can quickly get into one of the PVP modes. Drifters can have an overwhelming amount of customization. There are classes but gear is most important to how you’ll be able to play and progress. Players will get gear recommendations for their class.
Combat involves weapon-based abilities and skills that can be leveled up. Battles are large-scale and advertised as “24/7”. It already feels like being dropped into a war that started long ago. Players pick their faction but without much lore, one seems as good as any other. There are stat bonuses associated with different factions, however. The game extensively covers its systems. So you understand how to do things without knowing “why?”
Warborne is great for strategy lovers who don’t need cutscenes or much of anything else. The full launch is planned for some time in 2025, but no date. These things can always be added in later. As of now the game is fun and functional. It’s a sci-fi sandbox with the promise of a deeper game later on.
