Upcoming ‘Magic the Gathering’ Deck Will Have Assassin’s Creed Fans Excited
Wizards of the Coast’s popular strategic card game, Magic the Gathering, is known for
releasing intense and exciting decks that please fans of various fandoms, such as Lord of the
Rings, Dungeons and Dragons, and now Assassin’s Creed. New decks are released typically
every quarter throughout the year, leaving players on their toes on what to expect and even
planning out combinations for upcoming games. Now, a crossover of Magic the Gathering and
Assassin’s Creed is expected to arrive this summer, and it’s believed they are being released due
to the expected new game in November of 2024. What is to be expected in the decks?

For starters, a lot of the cards within the Assassin’s Creed decks will involve exiling other
cards, which makes sense given the theme of the decks, and different types of counters. This
deck may be tricky for first time players, since a lot of the cards revolve around control and
inevitability. For example, the card Ezio Auditore da Firenze can easily destroy the opposing
player if that player has 10 or less life. That player would immediately lose the game if the caster
pays 1 white, 1 blue, 1 black, 1 red, and 1 green mana. Another example would be Temporal
Trespass, where the player takes an extra turn.
Several cards within the decks are equipment that may build up a creature you control.
For example, we have Sword of the Feast and Famine that protects the equipped creature from
black and green, while also giving it +2/+2. Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a
player, that player discards a card and you untap all lands you control. This can be terrifying if
stacked on another equipment for the same creature that also boosts its power. The build-up on
creatures can escalate quickly, especially since they aren’t expensive mana-wise.
Players can also expect several creature cards with deathtouch and first strike, which
checks out considering the nature of Assassin’s Creed. There are also other uncommon abilities
within these decks that aren’t seen often in other recent decks, such as fear, delve, and
multikicker.
The Assassin’s Creed decks are expected to release on July 5th, 2024 and are highly anticipated
within the Magic the Gathering community. With these decks being based around control or
swiftly killing off your opponent’s creatures, it’s no wonder why everyone is so excited.
