Tron: Ares Official Trailer Reaction
‘Tron: Ares’ is the first sequel to the dormant ‘Tron’ franchise since 2010’s ‘Tron: Legacy’, but at the end of CinemaCon Disney gave audiences a look at the slick reboot for the first time. The digital characters have come into the real world, posing a serious threat to humanity.
The trailer is quite short, only a minute and half long, but conveys a significant threat despite that. Audiences open on a chase sequence, with the antagonists blazing down the highway at over 120 miles per out. The two bikes are manned by the evil red side, and they quickly prove their digital powers have a huge effect on the real world when one of them slices a police car in two with a laser gate.
The invasion from the grid continues as a mysterious red ship hovers above a scared city below, with an explosion breaking out above it. It’s an all out war from those in the Grid, as they want to find something. Jets try to destroy it, but their missiles are defended in a very awesome looking maneuver, hopefully the film will contain lots of this action.. There’s a brief glimpse of what looks to be the inside of the Grid, with red soaked lighting all over.
Towards the end of the trailer, there’s a glimpse of Jared Leto’s character, Ares, but it doesn’t give him anything more than a brief look. It’s great to hear Jeff Bridges’ return to the franchise, as he asks a character to make sure that they’re ready for something, as there’s no going back. The final shot of the trailer teases open conflict between humans and AI, as explosions and lightcycles streak the sky.
‘Tron Ares’ releases in cinemas on October 10.
