Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood Ready for Summer Release
The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood is set to premiere on July 11, 2025. Produced by Studio Hibari, the series is directed by Ato Nonaka, with Yukie Sugawara handling series composition and Kohta Yamamoto composing the music. The anime brings to life the story of Shiki Ichinose, a young man who discovers his Oni heritage after a life-altering encounter with the descendants of the legendary Momotaro. This dark fantasy narrative explores themes of identity, destiny, and the age-old conflict between Oni and Momotaro bloodlines.
The voice cast features Kazuki Ura as Shiki Ichinose, Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano, and Koutarou Nishiyama as Jin Kougasaki. The opening theme, “Overnight,” is performed by The Oral Cigarettes, while the ending theme, “What is justice?” is by Band-Maid. These musical contributions aim to enhance the series’s intense and dramatic atmosphere.
Tougen Anki will be broadcast on Nippon TV and its affiliates, and international streaming details will be announced. The series has garnered significant attention, with premiere events scheduled at AFA Indonesia on June 7, a Japanese premiere of the first three episodes on June 21, and a U.S. premiere during Anime Expo 2025. Fans of dark fantasy and action-packed storytelling can look forward to this compelling addition to the Summer 2025 anime lineup.
