The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 Set to Release for Summer Anime Fans

The highly anticipated fourth season of The Rising of the Shield Hero is officially set to premiere in July 2025. Announced during a special live broadcast featuring voice actors Asami Seto (Raphtalia) and Rina Hidaka (Filo), the upcoming season promises to delve deeper into Naofumi Iwatani’s journey as the Shield Hero. A newly released key visual depicts Naofumi seated on a throne, surrounded by both familiar allies and new characters, accompanied by the tagline “Revered yet w(e)ary,” hinting at the challenges ahead.

Season 4 is expected to explore the aftermath of revelations about Raphtalia’s royal lineage and the ensuing conflict with the empire of Q’ten Lo. The narrative will follow Naofumi and his companions as they confront political intrigue and threats from assassins targeting Raphtalia. New characters, including Werner (voiced by Takeo Otsuka) and Jaralis (voiced by Jiro Saito), will join the cast, adding fresh dynamics to the story.

Kinema Citrus returns to animate the series, maintaining the visual quality that fans have come to expect. The opening theme will be performed by MADKID, while Chiai Fujikawa provides the ending theme, continuing their contributions to the franchise’s musical landscape. With its blend of action, character development, and political intrigue, The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 is poised to be a standout in the Summer 2025 anime lineup.
