Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Fight Godzilla in Upcoming Crossover
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will take on Godzilla in an all-new crossover event announced at San Diego Comic-Con, it’s been confirmed.
‘Godzilla #1’ will be released in November from IDW Publishing to kick off a new mini series, written by Tim Seely and drawn by Fero Pe.
A synopsis for the series reveals that the original purpose of the Foot Clan was to protect Japan from Kaiju, but when Godzilla and other monsters start appearing the Foot Clan is unprepared, and the Foot Clan’s leader, Shredder, might even be behind the attacks.
Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo and Donatello will face their fiercest foe yet as they travel to Japan to stop Godzilla.
Speaking at Comic-Con, series editor at IDW Jake Williams said “There are maybe two or three other ideas in the entire cultural landscape that are as instantly iconic, as perfect in their clarity and conception, as the King of the Monsters and the heroes in a half-shell.”
“Mashing them up has been a complete and utter joy. These characters are so perfectly realized that working on this comic feels like bearing witness to a natural encounter between living and breathing beings.”
This isn’t the first crossover the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have had with other landmark franchises.
Previously, the turtles have come face to face with the horrors of ‘Stranger Things’ in 2023.
