‘Studio Ghibli’ Makes a Surprise Appearance at ‘Star Wars’ Celebration in Tokyo
The Star Wars Celebration at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, Japan, was held from April 18th to
April 20th of this year. New merch and projects were announced, hyping fans up for what the
future holds for Star Wars. However, there was an adorable tribute by an entire talent group by
Lucasfilm dedicated to Studio Ghibli.
There was an entire art gallery dedicated to the very popular studio, and it even had its own
floor. The art itself was a mashup between Studio Ghibli and Star Wars, a combination that
made fans go nuts, though this isn’t the first time they’ve merged. In 2022, LucasFilm’s and
Studio Ghibli collaborated on a short-film called Zen-Grogu and Dust Bunnies.
The gallery saw characters and ideas from across Star Wars designed in the iconic style of
Ghibli films and imagery.
