Star Wars Eclipse Loses Lead Writer at Quantic Dream
Quantic Dream’s narrative focussed game ‘Star Wars: Eclipse’ has been dealt a blow, as lead writer Adam Williams left the project.
Annoucing the news on his LinkedIn profile, Williams said that he was proud to have been involved at the studio.
“After almost 10 years at Quantic Dream, I am leaving to found a new studio – together with a group of very talented designers and developers.
“We can’t say too much just yet. We are working on something very innovative, very special and, for now, very secret. More on that soon.
“I’ve already been in touch with many of you guys at Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm, to thank you for everything on Detroit and Eclipse. It’s been a great adventure.
“A big thank you to the team, for taking this leap with us – and to the investors, for being the ideal partners on the next adventure. More on that, also, soon.
To be continued…”
Williams worked on several games at Quantic Dream, including ‘Detroit: Become Human’ and ‘Heavy Rain’.
Quantic Dream announced ‘Star Wars: Eclipse’ with a reveal trailer in December 2021 at that year’s Game Awards.
It will have a narrative focus, letting audiences loose in a galaxy far far away.
The game will be set in the High Republic era of ‘Star Wars’, where both the Jedi and Republic are in their prime.
Quantic Dream haven’t revealed anything more about the game since the reveal trailer announcement, but Vice president of marketing Lisa Pendse told IGN in September 2023 that the game “still exists,” however. “Can I say it still exists? Because it exists,” she said. “It’s just not ready. It’s simmering.”
