Star Trek: Section 31 Release Date Confirmed
Paramount’s next ‘Star Trek’ film, ‘Star Trek: Section 31’ has got a release date of January 24, 2025.
The film, which stars Michelle Yeoh as Emperor Philippa Georgiou, will see the character join Starfleet’s secret division, known as Section 31.
The date was unveiled at the ‘Star Trek’ panel during New York Comic Con.
Yeoh made an appearance via video link, and it featured other cast members such as Omari Hardwick, Kacey Rohl and Robert Kazinsky, along with executive producer and director Olatunde Osunsanmi.
Other cast members include Sam Richardson, Sven Ruygrok, Humberly Gonzalez and James Hiroyuki Liao. Miku Martineau portrays a young Philippa Georgiou.
A trailer of the film debued at San Diego Comic Con in summer 2024, giving audiences a tease for what the film will follow.
The synopsis for the film reads as follows: “Emperor Philippa Georgiou joins a secret division of Starfleet tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets and faces the sins of her past.”
Yeoh first appeared as the Georgiou in the Paramount+ show ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ pilot episode ‘The Vulcan Hello’ back in 2017.
‘Star Trek: 31’ is written by Craig Sweeny. It’s executive produced by Alex Kurtzman, Sweeny, Aaron Baiers, Osunsanmi, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth and Michelle Yeoh and is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.
Paramount Global Content Distribution will distribute the film.
