Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Release Date Confirmed

‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ finally has a release date after being removed from calendars in 2023.

The third installment in Sony’s expansive multiverse story will  swing into cinemas on June 4, 2027

Directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, and producer Phil Lord were at CinemaCon to announce the news, and said “We know how important this franchise is to so many people around us. We just could not run it back.”

Sony released several pictures of the upcoming film.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was the first film in the trilogy, releasing back in 2018. 

It introduced audiences to versions of Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore), Peter B. Parker (voiced by Jake Johnson), and Gwen Stacey (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld), as Miles sought to find his place in the multiverse after being bitten by a radioactive spider. 

The film’s sequel, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ released in 2023, and added Oscar Isaac as the voice of Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, as Jason Schwartzman as the multiverse menace the Spot.

‘Across the Spider-Verse’ proved to be extremely popular at the box office, with a global total of $690 million.

‘Across the Spider-Verse’ ends with Miles trapped in the world of Earth 42, in the clutches of the Prowler, who is that universe’s Miles Morales, Miguel O’Hara and the multiversal group Spider Society are attempting to ensure Miles doesn’t interrupt any more Canon Events that might destabilize the multiverse, and Gwen Stacy leads a group of Spider-People to rescue Miles.

‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’ was previously titled ‘Across the Spider-Verse Part 2’ until Sony changed the name back in 2022.

The film was originally set to release in March 2024, but was taken off the release calendar due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.
