Rory McCann Joins Ahsoka Season 2 as Baylan Skoll
Rory McCann, the Scottish actor best known for his performance in ‘Game of Thrones’, will be taking over the role of Baylan Skoll in ‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’ season two.
Ray Stevenson, the actor who played the character in season one, died in May 2023 after an illness, just before the show released on Disney+.
The InSneider first reported the news.
Fans will recognise McCann from his role as Ser Sandor “The Hound” Clegane from all eight seasons on ‘Game of Thrones’.
Other roles the actor has appeared in are ‘Gladiator II’, ‘Hot Fuzz’, ‘xXx’, ‘Return of Xander Cage’, ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’, the ‘Knuckles’ show, and the animated series ‘Transformers: EarthSpark’.
‘Ahsoka’ came out in summer 2023, with Rosario Dawson playing the titular character.
Baylan Skoll was a former Jedi turned mercenary, who had allied himself and his apprentice Shin Hati with Morgan Elsbeth as they attempted to liberate Grand Admiral Thrawn from another galaxy.
By the end of the season, he was trapped on Perida, searching for something that had to do with the Mortis Gods.
Back in the known galaxy, Thrawn has setup a base on the home of the Nightwitches’ home planet of Dathomir and looks to unify the Imperial Remnant.
Ezra Bridger also reunited with his friend Hera after he snuck about Thrawn’s ship to get escape Peridia.
Shortly after the first season of the show concluded, fans got confirmation that it would be returning for a second season.
Dave Filoni will return as showrunner, though it’s unclear when shooting for the second season will get underway.
‘Andor’ season two is the next ‘Star Wars’ series to premiere on Disney+ in April.
