Review on the Video Game Alien: Isolation
This past year, the Alien franchise reached a whole new peak, between the film Alien:
Romulus and the announcement of the sequel of the video game Alien: Isolation, making the
series more popular than it’s been in years. The video game, however, provided an entirely new
experience for fans, giving them a certain perspective on what it would be like in the horrifying
presence of a xenomorph. The long-awaited sequel of the game will make its debut soon, but if
you haven’t played the first game from 2014, here’s why you should.
If you are looking for a thrilling survival game with intense jump scares and quite a bit of gore,
look no further. Alien: Isolation fulfills that itch for a disturbing game to test your survival skills
and awareness of your surroundings. I recently just started playing it for the first time, and I
thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of being chased and the limited area of the ship — meaning, less
places to hide and run away to, making the game a more terrifying experience. What was
thoroughly enjoyed the most was the up-close imagery of the xenomorph, as if it’s being
recorded by a camera, which gives a hint of realism and heart-throbbing anxiety; in a good way,
of course, if you live for the thrill.
This game has officially reached being ten years old, and after waiting for so long to play it, I
can honestly say I’m not sure why I waited so long. It’s not recommended if fans aren’t open to
insane jump scares.
