New Sci-Fi Films Will Have Fans Looking Forward to 2025
Science fiction films are all the rage in recent years, with new films and TV shows constantly
being released under the genre. With the thrill of action-packed scenes or horrific scenarios that leave
viewers on their toes, it’s no wonder it’s so popular. 2025 is approaching and there are a variety of films
that will have fans of the genre anticipating the upcoming year. What anticipated films can people expect?
For starters, a new adaptation of the famous Superman films will be released, with actor David
Corenswet playing as the popular superhero. It will just be titled Superman, though it will bring the entire
series into a brand new view, where the hero reconciles his heritage with his human upbringing. The new
set photos that have just been released have fans beyond excited for the new film, and they can expect
this movie to be out in theaters on July 11th, 2025. While Superman is considered an action film, it also
has many sci-fi attributes that put it in that specific genre.
Another film expected to release is Avatar 3, once again directed by the well known James
Cameron. The first two films were a major success, so it’s no wonder that there is a third film in
production. It follows directly as a sequel to the 2022 film Avatar: The Way of the Water, and it’s expected
to release in theaters on December 19th, 2025.
For those sci-fi horror fans, M3gan 2.0 is expected to make a debut on June 27th, 2025, which is a
sequel to the hit sci-fi thriller movie M3gan, regarding an AI robot designed like a young girl that ends up
becoming a murder machine. It’s confirmed that Gemma and Cady from the first film will make an
appearance. It’s not announced what the rating for this film will be, since the first film was rated PG-13 but
could have easily been given an R rating.
These are not the only sci-fi films being released in 2025. In fact, there are several others fans can
expect, especially sequels, such as Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, 28 Years Later, and Mortal Kombat 2. Be
