New Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger Actors Announced
Harry Potter has a new actor with Dominic McLaughlin, who will play the Boy Who Lived in HBO Max’s adaptation of the books into a TV series.
Ron Weasley will be played by Alastair Stout, and Hermione Granger will be played by Arabella Stanton.
HBO Max announced this in a Facebook post that read:
“Dear Mr. Potter, Miss Granger, and Mr. Weasley: We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Please welcome Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley to the HBO Original Series Harry Potter.”

Stanton has previously played titular Matilda on the West End, and McLaughlin will join Nick Frost in the film ‘Grow’.
HBO Max has been gradually announcing the cast for its revival of the TV series. Previously announced cast members include Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor Minerva McGonagall, Luke Thallon as Professor Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
Francesca Gardiner will act as showrunner.
The series will starrt filming its first season during summer 2025 at Warner Bros. Leavesden and aims to release in late 2026/early 2027.
