Mia Goth Cast as Star Wars: Starfighter Villain

Mia Goth, known for roles in ‘X’, ‘Pearl’, and ‘MaXXXine’, has been cast as the villain for the upcoming ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ movie opposite Ryan Gosling.

‘Starfighter’ was announced at Star Wars Celebration Japan earlier in 2025.

Detail on the film are few and far between, but The Hollywood Reporter reports that Gosling will play a character that has to protect a young charge against evil pursuers.

Goth will play one of these pursues in the film, chasing Gosling across the galaxy.

Lucasfilm had no comment about the news.

‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ is unconnected to the rest of the Skywalker Saga, and will take place five years after ‘The Rise of Skywalker’.

“This is a stand-alone. It’s not a prequel, not a sequel. It’s a new adventure. It’s set in a period of time that we haven’t seen explored yet,” Levy said at April’s Star Wars Celebration.

‘Star Wars’ is returning to cinemas after a near ten-year spell, with Jon Favreau’s ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ flying into cinemas on May 22, 2026, and ‘Starfighter’ will land into cinemas a year later on May 28, 2027.

Goth’s next appearance will be in Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ alongside Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac.

She has also been cast in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Oddysey’ with Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattinson.

‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ is Levy’s follow-up to Marvel Studios’ buddy comedy ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, which brought in $1.3 billion at the global box office after releasing in July 2024 and become the highest-grossing R-rated feature of all-time.

Jonathan Tropper wrote the screenplay for ‘Starfighter’. Tropper has previously written features with Levy (‘The Adam Project’, ‘This Is Where I Leave You’) and created the Apple TV+ series ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’.

The InSneider first reported Goth’s casting.
