Marvel Characters That Deserve Their Own Movies

Fans have spent years cheering for A-list heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor, but the Marvel Universe is no shortage of other characters who have equally rich powers, backstories, many of whom totally deserve their own movies. Here are a few underrated heroes who should definitely get a shot in the MCU.

Gambit

This Cajun mutant has everything you need to make a good movie, including a tragic past and supercool power of kinetically charging anything he touches. In simple words, everything is a bullet in his hands. Fans would love to see his “Thieves Guild” arc, his love-hate saga with Rogue, and his villainous role in the Mutant Massacre. He had a blink-and-you-miss cameo in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but fans need more.

Miles Morales

Miles Morales deserves a chance to step out of Peter Parker’s shadow, and a live-action movie could be the perfect way to make that happen. Born and raised in Brooklyn, this Afro-Latino teen has powers that actually go beyond what Peter can do. His story in Into the Spider-Verse was great, but story arcs like the reveal of The Prowler or a Spider-Men crossover would blow fans away.

Squirrel Girl

Doreen Green, aka Squirrel Girl, has squirrel powers, a super-smart brain, and can take on just about anyone so it’s honestly surprising she hasn’t gotten her own movie yet. She first showed up in Marvel Super-Heroes Vol. 2 #8 and even managed to beat Doctor Doom, one of Marvel’s toughest villains. She also has some fun stories that fans would love to see on screen, like The Forbidden Pla-Nut and plenty more.

Mephisto

This hell-lord has been dominating heroes since Silver Surfer #3 (1968). He upended Peter Parker’s life in One More Day, turned Vegas into hell in Damnation, and tried to steal the Silver Surfer’s soul for the fun of it. He is yet to make an MCU appearance but has been teased multiple times, even in She-Hulk.

Richard Rider (Nova)

Richard Rider’s career as Nova begins in Nova #1 (1976) when he inherits the Nova Force and becomes the last of the Corps after Annihilation. He’s appeared in a bunch of animated shows and movies, including The Amazing Spider-Man, but still hasn’t made it to the MCU. A live-action debut is long overdue, and fans would willingly pay money to see him team up with Star Lord.

Beast

Beast has shown up in a handful of Fox’s X-Men movies as one of the good guys, but there’s a darker side to him that fans haven’t seen on screen yet. In the comics, like Amazing Adventures #11 (where he first appears in his furry form) and during the X-Force run in the Krakoa era, Beast makes some questionable choices and walks a morally grey line. It’d be awesome to see the MCU explore that side of him and maybe even bring him in as a villain.
