
Main Cast for Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions Unveiled
The main cast for the upcoming ‘Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions’ has been unveiled by Audible.
Hugh Laurie, the two-time Golden Globe winner and British actor best known for his role as Doctor Gregory House in ‘House’, will voice Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.
Emmy winner Matthew Macfadyen, known for his role in ‘Succession’, will voice the main antagonist of the series, Lord Voldemort.
Hugh Laurie said in a press release: “I’m honored to have been trusted with the keys to Albus Dumbledore, and thrilled to be able to take him around the track of this beautiful incarnation by Pottermore and Audible. I’m also deeply conscious of previous drivers Richard Harris, Michael Gambon, Jude Law and the iconic narrations by Jim Dale and m’colleague Sir Stephen Fry.
“Just below the horizon, but headed our way, is the rough beast John Lithgow, his hour come round at last. This is a great company, and it’s a privilege to be among their number.”
Two professors at Hogwarts have been revealed so far, Riz Ahmed, who has appeared in ‘Four Lions’ and ‘Venom’, will voice Professor Severus Snape, and Michelle Gomez, who has appeared in ‘Doctor Who’, will voice Professor Minerva McGonagall.
The main character Harry Potter in audiobooks one to three will be voiced by Frankie Treadaway, and in audiobooks four to seven by Jaxon Knopf.
Ron Weasley will be voiced by Max Lester in audiobooks one to three and by Rhys Mulligan in audiobooks four to seven.
Hermione Granger will be voiced by Arabella Stanton, who has also joined the cast of the HBO Max ‘Harry Potter’ series as the same character, for audiobooks one to three. Nina Barker-Francis will voice Hermione Granger in audiobooks four to seven.
Cush Jumbo OBE will serve as narrator for the audiobooks.
Audible is working with Pottermore Publishing to release new productions of the seven books written by J.K. Rowling.
‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ will debut on Tuesday, 4th November 2025, ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ releases December 16, 2025; ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ releases January 13, 2026; ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ releases February 10, 2026; ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ releases March 10, 2026; ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ releases April 14, 2026; culminating with the release of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ on May 12, 2026.
