James Gunn dismisses rumors Robin will be in The Batman Part II

James Gunn has made it clear that  Robin will appear in ‘The Batman Part II’, responding to Internet speculation that Dick Grayson will be part of the movie.

Writing on threads, the co-head of DC Studios said in a post on Threads  “Guys, please stop believing this nonsense,” he wrote. “I think six of us have read the script. No one knows anything about The Batman 2.

“Anything you’ve heard about that movie is made up or a guess. No one in the world knows anything about the concept for the story except four people.”

Gunn often interacts with fans on social media, and is quick to shutdown rumours before they spread.

‘The Batman Part II’ will start filming in the spring of 2026, ready for a release in October 2027.

As Gunn has reminded people online, plot details of the film are unknown, with only a handful of people knowing anything about the sequel.

The film in ‘The Batman’ series starred Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight and released in 2024.

It was a critical and commercial success, and resulted in the spin-off TV series called ‘The Penguin’ starring Colin Farrell.

The DCU’s own Batman movie, ‘The Brave and the Bold’ is still some way off, and casting about the DCU version of Batman remains a mystery.

Gunn is riding high after the success of the DCU debut title ‘Superman’, which hit cinemas on July 11.

It starred David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

The studio will start releasing fims again next year, with ‘Supergirl’ starring Milly Alcock as the titular Supergirl and ‘Clayface’ set for a 2026 release date.

Fans can also look forward to upcoming TV releases like the second season of ‘Peacemaker’ starring John Cena and ‘Lanterns’, which will feature the return of Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner.
